Inventor
What is inventor?
The use of inventor is well explained by its name-inventor is to simply invent things. This software makes creating anything you can think of easy as possible. Not only can you design any type of object, but these objects can be exported to 3-D print. There are lots of ins and outs to inventor which makes it a bit difficult to work with, but the usefulness outweighs the difficulty.

THOUGHTS
I have to admit that this introduction to Inventor and 3D printing was very abrupt (in a good way). We, sort of, got thrown into the fire immediately as we were 3D printing within the first 3 weeks. To be honest I was expecting to 3D print maybe 1 time the whole semester, and its great that we are already in the shop 3D printing widgets. Also, it was super satisfying applying my prior Inventor training for the first time as I thought I would never use Inventor again. I learned a lot throughout this process because the Makerbot software was completely new to me. It was a surprise to me that the object had to be rotated in a position so no overhang occurred. I never thought that orientation would be a problem with the 3D printing process being as slow as it is. Overall, I truly enjoyed this first project because of the nostalgic feeling I got from using Inventor mixed with the exhilarating feeling I got from using a shiny piece of new technology.
